Quote (when speaking about accountability): “Feet to the fire.”
Thoughts – Coach Martin was all about accountability and adaptability. He likes to hold players accountable and see them push through the tough situations. His quote, “feet to the fire”, is all about players standing their ground and figuring things out. There was a moment that he talked about student- athletes are too quick to transfer nowadays because situations were tough, and that is something I agree with. Coach Martin was also very big on adaptability in himself and his coaches, not just his players. I think that is very important because as the times change, so does the mind of the student athlete.
